Due to the fact that space is scarce in the cities, currently unused fallow land (e.g. former military premises or larger unused unused rail track areas) are to be converted into residential or mixed zones with respect to urban planning. LÄRMKONTOR GmbH conducts acoustic calculations in connection with such plans which help to determine possible new uses from an acoustic perspective. Acoustic assessment enables the consideration of possible limits with respect to use or extent based on the acoustic situation during the planning stages.

LÄRMKONTOR GmbH monitors urbanistic and structural design competitions as an expert party in order to improve the acoustic quality of the drafts. We provide information about official noise protection requirements with respect to planning and construction at events and colloquia, consult participants with respect to acoustically relevant aspects of the drafts, visualise the quality of the contributions submitted as calculated raster noise maps, assess the quality of the drafts within the preliminary selection and attend meetings of the jury to provide an expert perspective.
